SCREEN TIME

The nervous state of the world is certainly related to the increase in media technological developments.

This condition forms the starting point of the artistic work of Joep van Liefland.

However, the images that can be seen in the exhibition 'Screen Time' do not describe the concrete, current events but rather their underlying technological structures. Think: electronic light, dots, transmission, compression.

Images that stimulate the nervous system in their own way.

A central component of the exhibition is a screen printing exposure table from the artist's studio. Normally, part of the artistic production system but now used in the exhibition as a pedestal for paper works.

One could say once again: "The medium is the massage".

The artist’s work focuses on the phenomenology of media and its transformation.
